Welcome to the official website of the United Nations Youth Association’s first inaugural tertiary conference,
National Youth Summit 2010.
An initiative of the United Nations Youth Association of Australia, the National Youth Summit seeks to engage Australia’s youth in the policies and processes of the issues that define their generation. Article 1 of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights says “All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood”, The theme of thsi year’s conference will address the issues: Conflict, Good Governance, Gender Equality and Minorities. For its inauguration, there is no more fitting a city than Sydney, the birthplace of Australia’s modern history.
The National Youth Summit will unite the voices of Australia’s youth like never before, whilst also challenging them to further their thinking and understanding. Over the course of four days, participants will engage in a series of interactive activities, debate and discussion, aimed at creating a Youth Declaration that reflects the development of critical thinking, awareness and common understanding.
